Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading their performance. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment can be superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item that they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items with upgrade components inside them, using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.
The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The upgrade of an armor piece to its highest upgrade level will increase its damage absorption. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different effect. For example, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an item can receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges for use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades are updated every day or never expire, dependent on the upgrade.
The cheapest method of upgrading armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be found through exploring the surroundings and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive, however it is obtainable from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.
The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it will also affect the speed and agility of the piece. This is why it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces above +9, since the defensive boost gained is usually not worth the extra weight and power cost of the upgrades required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain firearms also have upgrades that improve their innate capabilities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity to cause more damage) are two examples.
Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this, but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment that has low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items have a greater likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of blessings and perks.
To increase their level quicker, players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. In addition to these players, they should think about upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will increase its utility when accompanied by experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing a stat and providing secondary effects. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gemstone and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the quality of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary depending on the tier the jewel is at when it's inserted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.
All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain these. Like other upgrade components jewels are able to be swapped by a different identical jewel without damaging it. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in an item of equipment once.
The use of more jewels in a movement will make it more smooth and is typically done to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels can also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not damage them.
In addition to the above upgrades players can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped freely but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged, and can only be recovered through an upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can be used to give your character many small, but useful advantages. You can find them in the starter area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors and by doing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinkets that a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but valuable boost to movement speed and evasion. The player can then collect rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective when not active and also helps to compensate for the absence of a solid team or any slots in the talent tree that would normally be filled with the hero's ideal stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is true especially if you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It's more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat instead of two subpar ones.
In the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their yellow trinket to a red in the middle and top players usually choose a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players can also discover other trinkets in form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing a chapter’s main quest or beating the boss. try these guys can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
